Terns have fledged

Most of the Common Terns and the fledged youngsters have left the island. The few that remain, including the three pictured here by member Terry Mckenna, will probably depart over the next two or three days.  

Insects flourishing

With the excellent weather we have had over the last few weeks the reserve’s insects are flourishing. There are a  huge varieties of insects, particularly dragonflies, damselflies and moths, that are visible at the moment.    

Reserve Reptiles Update

We’ve had some very good sightings of slow worm, grass snake and common lizard over the last few weeks, particularly on the reserve extension. Here are a great few shots by members Sheila Jones and Stephen Butler.  

Terns Successfully Breeding
